July 20th Vs. the NY Mets
I attended this game with Samantha. We got there early as usual. Armed with two posters that we had made the night before the first one said "Good Luck Horacio" and the other said "Atlanta's Newest Ace" with pictures of him around both. We went early to the Braves parking lot with our signs and when Horacio came I showed them him. Samantha wouldn't get off the ground and stand up so I handed one the posters to this lady I know and she held it up. Horacio saw them and smiled and waved. I did not bother him after that. I know most starters have a set formula for the days they start and I did not want to mess with that.
Once we got in we went to our seats and Horacio was taking batting practice so I screamed his name and put the "Good Luck Horacio" poster up. He smiled and kind of nodded then I threw that one down and put the other one up and he smiled again. For some reason I only had like 27 mins on my camera so I had to be picky so that I would have time.
We then waited for the game to start and we cheered really loud when he was announced in the starting line up and at the beginning of the game. This lady sitting next to us goes "He wouldn't be your favorite would he?!"
Horacio made a great play in the first that really fired him up and the crowd with the caught stealing attempt to the third then going to first to get that runner out. It was one of the best plays ive seen all year!
Horacio got a little roughed up but in the inning he got taken out I almost think he gave up because he made a little move to Henry like are they coming to get me out of the game or not then Bobby Cox came flying out of the dugout. I think Horacio got rattled in this game but its part of being a rookie. He still has to feel his way through the tough times and he is doing just that.
The Braves came back to win the game on the 8 run 8th inning and Horacio got the no decision.
